Amsterdam - Koninginnedag 2006

Some interesting facts about amsterdam:

The XXX on the flag of the city does not refer to anything filthy (see wikipedia)
The colour orange represents the House of Orange, which is the name of the current Dutch dynasty.
There are 1281 bridges in Amsterdam (source) - though according to this page St. Petersburg has more bridges with a total of 539 bridges. Ha - now you are puzzled.

Anyway - if you want to have a great weekend full of dancing dutch and international people wearing orange clothes and driving around with a boat with ghettoblasters and bigger sound systems, go to Amsterdam for this yearly event. I for sure will be there next year.

Brunch-B-Q in Rebstock

The italian gang invited for a nice sunday BBQ into the calm subtle gardens of the Rebstockpark area in Frankfurt. Little did we know that the day would progress with some serious football and rugby games under an italian referee...

Dialogue in the dark

Oliver organized a visit to the Dialogmuseum. A very well invested €13 for the special tour. I do not want to tell too much about it other than the time flew by totally unnoticed - and it was REALLY dark. An absolute highlight of the Frankfurt museum scene. GO! GO! GO! GO!

Davids Birthday - Indian Palace & stereobar

this is how the brainstorming started for Davids Birthday party. In the end we had dinner at the Indian palace, witnessed a fight between a crazy German guy and two Proud Chinese students, watched Das Boot twice in the stereobar and had a fun evening all in all. I don't have any photos - if you have some, please send them to me!!!

bug orgy at lake Balaton

a good old-fashioned family trip from Vienna to Budapest and lake Balaton over the Easter weekend. My mum went a bit wild with the camera at our summer house but the results are pretty cool. Maybe this summer I actually manage to spend a couple of days there ...

birthday brunch

once upon a time there was a boy. And this boy was happy. He was so happy he decided to invite all his friends for his birthday. For this special occasion he needed to do some shopping. So he went to the city. And in the city he was walking around looking for nice things. And he walked by a shop and saw a couple of sheep. And he liked them so he bought four of them and left two more in the shop. After another round of shopping he walked by the shop again and saw the two sheep were still there. And he did not want the two sheep to feel left alone so he bought those also. So he had six of them.

Then his friends came for the birthday brunch and started to play with the sheep. To cut a boring story short - one sheep lost his legs and another one lost the head.

And the moral of the story? None - but recently they are spending all the time cuddled together looking after each other ...

japan tower vs. unity

two weeks ago we enjoyed a great night at the japan tower - this time everything went back to normal. The usual bad music in the sauna... I left shortly after midnight to unity and had some fun before going home to prepare for the birthday brunch...

O’reilly’s - another shitty night

Well, it cannot be always a fun night at O'Reilly's. Sometimes there are just too many guys singing slimy songs - a pub full of G.I.s singing cheesy songs from the seventies is simply not the fun I am looking for on a Friday night...

Well, at least there was a beaming Blanca and Johannes as the highlight of the evening.

I am sure we will be back another time ...
